Description


Albert Hastings Markham était un amiral britannique de la Royal Navy et un explorateur des régions arctiques. Son récit décrit l'expédition britannique de l'Arctique en 1875-76 dont le premier passage par le détroit de Nares, nommé d'après le leader de l'expédition, George Nares, ainsi que le voyage en traîneau à chiens dirigé par Markham lui-même, qui a emmené le groupe plus au nord que tous les autres explorateurs de l'Arctique.
