The English writer Mary Wollstonecraft undertook a trip in Sweden, in Norway and in Denmark in order to retrieve a stolen treasure ship for her lover, Gilbert Imlay. She hoped that this trip would save their relationship. After three months in Scandinavia, she realized that their relationship is a failure. Her 25 letters are a mix between travel writing and very personal thoughts.
